TERRASEM is successful in Ukraine
Seed rape grows well following drill demo 2011
Pöttinger Ukraine has done a seed drill demo to start drilling winter oilseed rape: beautiful weather, good seed material, excellent technology, experienced and dedicated employees. The rapeseed was drilled at nine farms in the key oilseed rape growing areas of Khmelnitskyj, Kiev, Cherkasy, Poltava and Kharkov. The TERRASEM C6 seed drill was used for the demo. We started drilling on 8 August and finished work on 24 August. The selected farms will be able to assess the operating quality of the TERRASEM C6 while drilling rapeseed.
The objective of the demonstration is to provide customers with more than just theoretical information about Pöttinger seed drill technology; the main thing is to demonstrate the practical advantages. Farms have a perfect opportunity to test the working quality, performance and process costs of the seed drill – after all, it's your own experience that really counts.
The drilling process was performed in fields with a range of operating conditions. The fields were prepared in various ways before drilling, and direct drilling was also used. The seed placement depth was set at 1.5 - 2 cm with a row spacing of 12.5 cm. Seed volume was 4.5 kg/ha on average. The first shoots appeared 5–7 days after drilling. We have already received the first positive feedback on the working quality of the TERRASEM and very much look forward to finding out how the demo-drilled fields develop. We will report back to you in one or two months.
